By Train
The Closest train stations to Cima di Porlezza still require car or taxi to arrive at Casa Cima. The nearest train stations to Cima di Porlezza are Como to the south and Lugano to the north.
Another option is to catch a train from Milan to Lugano. Trains arriving at Lugano station leave Milano Central and travel through Monza and Como before arriving at Lugano main station. Passports are checked at the Italian/Swiss border town of Chiasso. The journey is around 1.5 hours. A single ticket costs less than 20 Euros and can be purchased from the SBB Rail site. You can also arrive at Lake Lugano from Switzerland through San Bernadino or Splugenplass and then drive through the lake roads. A further alternative is to arrive through Chiasso from the San Gotthard tunnel.
